Swimming Pool Shape: Rectangular Versus Curved Options

You typically have two options here, the rectangular shape or a curved (“freeform”) shape, and both come their own sets of benefits and drawbacks. Rectangular Pools

On the downside, rectangular pools can sometimes feel a bit “sterile” or “cookie-cutter.” If you’re looking for something a little more unique, a rectangular pool might not be the right choice. Additionally, rectangular pools can be less versatile than other shapes when it comes to fitting them into your backyard layout.

Curved or Freeform Pools

If you’re looking for a pool that’s a little more unique, a curved or freeform pool might be the right choice. These pools are often seen as more natural and organic in their design, and can help create a relaxing oasis in your backyard. One of the biggest advantages of curved pools is that they can be customized to fit almost any space. Whether you have a small yard or a large one, a curved pool can be designed to fit your needs. Additionally, curved pools often offer more opportunities for creative design, including custom features and finishes. On the downside, curved pools can be more difficult and expensive to build than rectangular pools. They often require more labor and materials, and the construction process can be more complex. Additionally, curved pools can be more difficult to maintain than rectangular pools, since there are more nooks and crannies for dirt and debris to collect in.
